RECENT HAPPENINGS:

We have been busy.  Last weekend Jett had his first stay in a hotel.  Jake and I had the Nebraska Chiropractic Convention in Omaha.  I was there for work and Jake was there for continuing education hours.  Luckily Jake's aunt Letti was able to bring Jett to Omaha after daycare on Friday which helped us a ton and Saturday aunt Alli babysat at the hotel.  Jett's Simanek cousins even came to the pool to swim and visit that day.  It was a nice little getaway.  It was a lot more work to have Jett there but we were glad he was with us.

This week Jett got to see his friend Georgia at her mom Libby's grand opening of her new Pediatric Dentist Office.  They had fun playing together but Jett needs to learn that girls don't like it when you mess with their hair!

It's looking like Jake's new chiropractic office will be opening on April 15th so we have been so busy with that.  It is exciting and stressful at the same time but we know it will all be worth it in the end.  Luckily Jake still makes time to play with Jett even though he's busy.  It's so much fun now that Jett is interacting a lot more!

8 MONTHS:

Another month has come and gone and our little guy is not so little anymore.  In fact, last week when we met Eli Wolf (5 days old at the time), I was afraid Jett was going to eat him.  He is looking so big that people have said that they half expect him to start having a conversation with them.  I don't have any stats this month because he doesn't have another checkup until he is 9 months but I am estimating that he's close to 20 lbs.

In other news he is officially on the move.  It is impossible to change his diaper or clothes because he tries to get away or roll over and he is so fast.  The only way we can get him to lay still is to let him play with something that he isn't supposed to have or tag team the diaper changes  He is not full out crawling yet but he gets where he needs to go by army crawling (uses his face a lot).

He loves to sit in front of his tub of toys and play (and we love this too).  

He is also really liking baths and he's getting more daring in the water. He is still eating solids twice a day (fruit for breakfast and a vegetable for dinner).  We haven't tried any table foods yet but we need to start doing that soon.  He loves being around people and is always most content when there is a lot of action.  

I finally got a video of one of his latest tricks and favorite games.  This is how he flirts.  For example, I will come down the stairs and say "Hi Jett" and he will smile back at me and do this:

I'd be lying if I said that he is never high maintenance but he is such a happy little guy and almost always has a smile on his face.  I hope he'll always have that happy go lucky attitude. 

NEW FRIENDS AND PLAY DATES:

Last Thursday Jett got to meet his new friend Eli Emerson Wolf.  I have been great friends with Angela and Alex since high school and we are excited to force our own kids to become best friends.  Luckily I have a feeling they won't mind.  Congratulations Alex and Angela. On Sunday Andrew, Libby and Georgia came over after church for lunch and a play date.  Jett and Georgia played so well together (and by that I mean that they sat next to each other, both sucked on toys, and didn't mind sharing).

Later that afternoon the Akersons came over so Jett got to have some cousin playtime. He absolutely loves being around other kids right now so he was loving life.

In other exciting news Jett's girlfriend Gwyneth Elizabeth Lewis was born on Sunday.   We can't wait to meet her.  Congratulations Amy and Cody on your sweet baby girl!
