SPRING!!

Life is good now that spring is here and we've been lucky enough to enjoy nice weather for a month already!  The time change was a good thing for our family.  The kids are sleeping in later than they ever have which makes us all happier people!

The kids were lucky enough to spend some time with BOTH grandma's a few weeks ago (and aunt Alli).  They had a great time and when I went to pick them up Jett told me "bye" right away because he wanted me to leave again.

We've had work events keeping us busy in March.    It's been fun to get out a few times without the kids!

We also fit in a movie date and some dinners with friends!  Coming out of the winter hibernation is always a good thing. 

Joss' personality has really been developing a lot over the last month.  When we pick her up from daycare she has to say bye to all of her friends.  She wants to do everything that the older girls do.  This includes sitting on the toilet.  I am totally not ready to start potty training (and I haven't) but Joss does a pretty good job of going when she's at daycare. She's not at the point where she knows when she needs to go but she does go almost every time she sits on the chair.  She also wakes up at night when her diaper is really wet.

This is one of the reasons our kids don't sleep in our bed with us!  It's not as sweet as it looks.

Jett is the opposite of his sister in a lot of ways.  She is wanting to "be bigger"and he would like to stay little.   He also likes to confirm that he doesn't have to go to up in the sky with Jesus for a long time.  

Here are a few of my favorite Jett stories from the last month or so...

My job is kind of hard to explain to a 3 year old.  Sometimes I work from home and sometimes I’m traveling.  This past week I was talking to Jett on the phone when I was on a work trip and said, “I’m on the road  for work today.”  His response was, “YOU GET TO WORK ON THE ROAD?  YOU DO CONSTRUCTION?”  He was so excited.  I may just have to let him think that for a while. 

Tamra (daycare provider) was telling me that Jett walked in on her in the bathroom one day while she was opening a tampon wrapper.  She quickly tried to hide what she was doing and asked Jett for some privacy.  He ran back out into the living room and she heard him announce (to the other kids), “She’s eating candy in there!”

 Jake was tickling Jett the other night and was teasing him that he was going to bite his ear off.  Jett said, “Don’t bite my ear off.  Then I can’t hear secrets.”

Jett went to a train show with Jake about a month ago.  Note to self: Don’t call it a “train show” if there is no show.  It was more of an exhibit.  After looking at everything for about an hour Jett said, “I’m so excited for the show to start!”  Ha!  They still had fun though.

When Jett was at my mom’s a few weeks ago he got to see a real train up close when they were on a walk.  He said, “That train made my eyes  feel so good!”

After visiting my Grandma Marxsen he said, “I like that girl!” 

Saint Patricks Day is not an easy holiday to explain to kids.  As I was telling Jett about it I mentioned something about how if someone wasn't wearing green, he could pinch them.  He was really upset about it and said, "But I don't want to pinch anyone!!!"

We are realizing more and more lately how quickly phases pass.  Right now we feel like we are in a great phase.  We are so excited for the summer and thinking about how many fun things we can do with an almost 2 and 4 year old.  Last year Joss was just starting to walk so it was difficult to be outside and put her down.  This year she can be so much more involved with everything and we can't wait!
