We had well check-ups for the kids recently. For Joss it was her 15 month checkup and we were also doing Jett's 3 year checkup a little late. Props to all of the parents who take multiple kids to doctors appointments at the same time. This was my first time doing so and it was a little crazy.
Jett now weighs 31 lbs 3 oz (36 %). He is 39 3/4 inches which is about 4 inches taller than he was last year (84%).
The nurse asked Jett a few questions during the visit to see how he responded. For example, "What do you do when you are hungry?" He said, "Eat grapes." Then she said, "What makes you cold?" His response was, "When I eat frozens." That is what he calls frozen fruit:).
Joss is really figuring out how to work people these days. For example, if she wants something she blows kisses. And if she has something in her hand that she shouldn't have and she gets busted, she immediately gives it too us and acts like that is what she was planning on doing all along. She is so smiley, flirty, and sweet. She still wants what she wants and lets us know what that is but we are enjoying how social and and content she has become.
Jett has been testing our patience at bedtime and that is definitely our biggest struggle with him right now. His stalling tactics can be anywhere from hilarious and sweet to downright annoying and infuriating. One night I swore that I just wasn't going to respond to him anymore. He had already done his usual routine. "I need a drink" "I need to go potty" "Can I get up?" "Can I see your face?" "Don't forget to say HERE IS MY FACE!" "I need dad to stretch my legs." "My knee hurts, can i have some ice for it?" "Is the air on?" "I don't want covers." "I do want covers" "Is it the weekend?" "Mom, I love you all the way around the world!" "Can I have hugs and kisses?" "What was that noise?" "Dad, are you making a shake?" After this all went on I decided I was just going to let him whine and cry and until he fell asleep. After crying for quite a while I finally went up to his room and he said, "MOM...JUST TELL ME TO STOP CRYING!" So I did. And that was it. I never thought someone could tire me out so much while laying in bed!
I have one other quick Jett story that I have to share while he's still little and doesn't care:). The other day he was going to the bathroom and Jake said, "What is taking so long?" Jett said, "I'm just frustrated with my pee pee because it's so high."
I so enjoy my one on one time with Jett. We went on a date to our favorite bakery recently.
A few weekends ago my mom watched the kids and Jake and I got to have a fun day out with friends to tailgate for the Husker game.
The next day we took the kids to the Pumpkin patch in Roca and met the Simaneks there. Alli and my mom joined us too.
Between work travel, an upcoming trip for Jake and I, and everything else, it is going to be Thanksgiving before we know it!
