Joss is 11 months! It
makes me sad and happy at the same time.
On one hand I can’t believe how fast it’s going but I also think that as
she gets older, her and Jett will be able to play together more and there will
be more things we can all enjoy as a family.
Her current favorite activity is destroying everything Jett is playing
with. He usually handles it pretty well
but it has made him a little more territorial over his things lately. Joss is eating enough solids that she could
fully be weaned off of my milk if we wanted her to be (which is good because I don't have a lot left). We’ve started to try to
introduce some milk in a sippy cup occasionally.

She has 8 teeth now, is walking behind her walker, sleeps 11-12
hours at night, naps for 3-4 hours during
the day, loves trees (has to reach for them and try to touch them during
walks), and she still growls all the time.
She has a favorite song called “Diane Young” which is kind of random but every time we play it she gets so excited! She is not very interested in cartoons. I remember Jett really
liked Yo Gabba Gabba at her age but she could care less. And I guess that isn’t a bad thing. She is happiest when she wakes up from naps,
has food in front of her, and gets to do what she wants (sounds reasonable to
me). She has the sweetest smile!
Every once in a while I like to do some sort of recap of
things Jett has done/said because I want to always be able to remember him at this
hilarious age. Here are the most recent.
One night he kept saying he had to go to the bathroom after
we had put him to bed. I was getting annoyed
because he wasn’t actually going to the bathroom (just stalling bedtime) but of
course I had to let him try each time.
The next morning he randomly said, “Remember when I kept going potty
last night? That was ridiculous!!!”
Speaking of bedtime stalling, the other thing he’s been
doing is yelling downstairs that he needs Jake to “adjust” him all the
time. “Dad, my food hurts…can you come
adjust me?”
It’s kind of crazy being a kid in today’s world where there
seems to be pictures and videos of so much of what happens. Sometimes Jett doesn’t believe me that
something happened unless I have a picture to prove it. For example, the other day I told him that
the neighbor girl had been outside in her pool.
He was like, “Can I see it? “ I said “What do you mean?” And his response was, “On your phone..didn’t you take a picture?”
The other day he was riding his car around our basement and
I was listening to him talk about the different stops he was making. First he went to Daddy’s office and said hi
to Abbey. Then he went to eat sushi with
me. Finally he went to Trader Joe’s to
get some groceries. Love hearing him use
his imagination.
I’m not sure this story is funny or more shocking. But last night we were at the park and Jett
and I were having a great time and all of a sudden he just decided to
spit on the top of my head. It was a
really large amount of spit and obviously completely caught me off guard. Between the look on my face when it happened
and the randomness of it all, Jake and I could not stop laughing. We’d start yelling at him and trying to discipline him and then we’d make
eye contact with one another other and have to turn our heads (or hide behind a
piece of play equipment) till we could make a straight face again. It was obviously not my proudest moment as a
parent and I have no idea why he did that (probably because he’s 2 and he
wanted to see what happened). But I was
thinking afterwards that some of my favorite moments parenting with Jake are
those moments. Where we both can’t stop
laughing at something really immature or we have an inside joke but we are
trying to be adults or set a good example at the same time. Somehow
I have a feeling that we are bound to have more of those moments in the future.

In the next 5 weeks we'll be celebrating all four of our birthdays. June and July are sure to be busy! And this coming weekend we are moving my mom and dad into their new home. It looks absolutely beautiful and I'm so happy for them! I have a feeling we'll make a lot of memories in this kitchen!
